We are delighted to announce that Former England partially sighted captain Stephen Daley will be joining some of our inclusive workshops throughout the day.
Taking place on Thursday 3rd December, Let’s Get Inclusive is a series of inclusive workshops to support and develop disability football in Middlesex and London in honour of International Day of People with Disabilities.
Stephen has been a true influence within disability football and has spent the past 25 years dedicated to the game. Amongst a long list of accomplishments, Daley has achieved 143 caps for the Para Lions, played in 9 World Championships and 9 European Championships in addition to securing 7 major international medals. Following years or service, Stephen has received an MBE after being named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for 2020.
Daley has recently hung up his playing shoes, however his involvement in football doesn’t end there. Much of Daley’s time is now focused on being a FA Mentor and also spent some time as the Head of Partially Sighted North West Centre of Excellence, a position he has now moved now moved on from. Stephen is now set to take on the role of England head coach to take the Para Lions to further victory.
Stephen is a part of the FA Role Models Program, a program dedicated to role models sharing their experience within a mainstream and para disability audience to inspire the next generation of disabled players.
Don’t miss your chance to hear Stephens journey and learn more about getting involved in the game as a disabled player or how you can increase opportunities and become more inclusive for disabled players.
Daley will be joining us for two of our workshops, Let's Get Informed: Inclusion Panel, and Let's Get Coaching.
