Did You Know That...
COVID-19 FAQs AND MIDDLESEX FA UPDATES
To keep up to date with all the most recent information regarding the current situation please see our website’s COVID-19 updates page, to help you keep track on how the outbreak is impacting football across the county. We have also created a handy FAQs article which will hopefully be able to answer some of your questions during this difficult time.
We have also compiled a range of support and guidance that will help you and those around you stay both mentally and physically healthy during this 'lock down' period. We have included a variety of ways to keep both you and your kids entertained and active, including The FA Superkicks programme will be a great initiative to get involved with during the break to keep young primary school players active.
WHOLE GAME SYSTEM – SIGN IN PROCESS
A reminder that the sign in process has changed for Whole Game System. You will no longer sign in using your FA Number (FAN). You will now be required to sign in with the email address attached to your FAN.
If you are having any difficulty then please report it to us.
SPORT ENGLAND – GOOD PRACTICE SHARING
Do you have a good club structure and offer good volunteer experiences? Then we want to hear from you!
The FA works closely with Sport England and are looking to ensure their 'Club Matters' workshops are football relevant. They are looking for real life case studies and want to hear your good practice. Complete our brief surveys to let us know all about your club on 'Volunteer Experience' and 'Club Leadership'.
TRAINEE REFEREE CLUB HUBS
Middlesex FA are providing Charter Standard clubs with the opportunity to become a hub for referee development – providing trainee referees with a safe and enjoyable environment to complete the 5 matches needed to complete their course. Clubs can use these officials for these matches on an interim basis, with the view to keeping them on your panel of officials going forward, helping with the ongoing struggle of appointing qualified referees to all fixtures.
Advantages of this are:
- Providing a safe and enjoyable environment for trainee referees
- Improving the retention rate of referees
- Improving match day experience
- Increasing the pool of referees for clubs
- Opportunity to gain exposure from Middlesex FA for leading on this new initiative
If you wish to get involved in this initiative, please contact Daniel May – Workforce Development Officer
U18 Referee Armbands to be Launched ahead of 2020/21
Ahead of the 2020/21 season and then for all newly qualified referees, yellow armbands will be provided for referees under the age of 18 to signify their age, ensuring coaches, spectators and players are aware that they are still subject to The FA’s Safeguarding Children legislation.
ADOPT A CLUB
Does your club offer football for only Youth or Adults, but you want to help your players with the lifelong playing pathway? Then our new initiative is for you!
We are looking for clubs that want to bridge the gap – Youth clubs looking to be feeder clubs for Adult clubs, and Adult clubs looking to take on those players wanting to make the step up into the open aged game. If you are interested please complete our interest form.
Does your club ‘Own It’? Whilst there isn’t any football being played, why don’t you look to make sure your club comes back stronger and get involved with the new campaign aimed at encouraging eligible clubs to sign up to the FA Charter Standard 'PROUD' accreditation scheme.
The campaign focuses on the hard work and dedication of clubs around the country in growing their football clubs and promotes gaining accreditation as the next step on the journey towards becoming a great club.
GROW THE GAME FUNDING
Whilst there may not be any football being played now, you can use this time to ensure there is more football being played than ever before (when it returns!).
You can receive £1500 if your club creates new Female (U7 – Adults) or Disability teams – note 2 teams max per application. Applications will be assessed on a first come first served basis and will be open until 31st May 2020. Find out more and register your interest with your Football Development Officer.
