Middlesex FA will be holding open trials in order to identify potential players for the 2018-19 Middlesex FA Under 16 Representative Team.

Middlesex FA will be holding open trials in order to identify potential players for the 2018-19 Middlesex FA Under-16 Representative Team.

Each season we look for the best U16 players to represent Middlesex. This is the elite level of youth football so we are looking for players of a good standard. Ideally we are generally looking for players who play regularly in teams in the higher divisions of Middlesex Youth football, boys who may have been recently released from professional academies or players who have some other representative experience at Schools FA level or similar.

These are open trials, therefore are proposed opportunity for all, however it is important to remember County FA selection is a prestigious and esteemed achievement and standards of selection are very high.

Mindful of the playing standard criteria we are happy to accept eligible boys self-nominating themselves but we are more actively seeking recommendations and nominations from club managers, secretaries or coaches.

The Middlesex U16 Representative Team

We compete in the South East Counties Youth Championship in 6 fixtures over the course of the season playing against other County FA’s including Kent, Sussex and London with the possibility of additional friendly fixtures arranged during the year against professional academies.

As this is representative football the players remain with their parent club throughout the season but as and when players are selected for Middlesex, should our fixture clash with the player’s parent club own league fixture then clubs are given the opportunity to move or defer their game should they wish to do so.  Therefore, clubs and coaches need not be concerned that players being selected for County Representation would be to the detriment of their own team.
