Capital Women's Cup Senior Final

The first of the three Capital Women’s Cup finals was played on Tuesday evening at Wingate & Finchley FC. These cups are contested by teams from The A

Spurs had the better of the opportunities in a fairly uneventful first half and took the lead in the 3rd minute of the second period through Wendy Martin, with a header from Bianca Baptiste’s excellent cross.

Charlton equalised in the 58th minute with a rather strange goal following a goalmouth scramble. Midfielder Charley Clifford was deemed to have got the final touch.

The winning goal after 77 minutes, for Charlton, who dominated the second half, was a complete contrast. A fine move between Gemma Shepherd, Avilla Bergin and Kit Graham ended with Kit netting from close range.
