Orange Ball Event a Huge Success
On Friday 10 February, teams of the North West London Mental Health League were joined by Sak (Founder of ORANGE BALL), who delivered workshops for the players and coaches. The sessions were aimed at introducing mental fitness and discussing the impact that this has on sports performance.
Daniel Perkins (Chairman of the league and Inclusion Officer at Middlesex FA), said: “The teams have thoroughly enjoyed Sak’s workshops. Too often, players focus on the physical and technical aspects of their game – but 90% of the game is based on our mindset and psychology. I’m sure these workshops will help our players understand their thought process and encourage them to think strategically. This will help them both on and off the pitch. We are all looking forward to having Sak down to more of our fixtures!”
Sak (Founder of Orange Ball) said: “It was a fantastic start to the programme, and it was a privilege to meet each group. As a Mental Fitness Coach, it’s important to begin by exploring what Mental Fitness is and how it might be relevant to players in and away from football. Once this was established, we explored the benefits of adopting a Dynamic Mindset. Each group brought forward their own ideas and we had some brilliant discussions on how these could be applied before, during and after their matches. This mental fitness skill not only benefits players performances but can support them to positively manage situations away from football, positively impacting wellbeing. The engagement and contributions were excellent and I’m really looking forward to supporting them in the next session”
