Middlesex FA are due to run two 1.5-hour workshops to cover skills and roles and responsibilities of a club Referee and Assistant Referee
Middlesex FA are due to run two 1.5-hour workshops to cover skills and roles and responsibilities of a club Referee and Assistant Referee. The workshops will be a mixture of both practical) and classroom-based activities that will develop knowledge to confidently be able to referee 11v11, 9v9 football, as well taking on the role assistant referee.
Before attending the workshop, candidates will be asked to complete the free online Laws of the Game module by clicking here.
Club Referee Workshop – 7pm-8:30pm
- Introductions and short Laws of the Game quiz
- Importance of Safeguarding in Youth Football
- Match Control – dealing with players/coaches/spectators
- Basic whistle technique
- Recognising fouls and other offences (touch on Sin-Bins)
Club Assistant Referee Workshop – 8:30pm-10pm
- Re-introductions and short Laws of the Game quiz
- Importance of Safeguarding in Youth Football
- Basic flag techniques and AR signals
- Offside
- Key Responsibilities and expectations of an AR
