Kayleigh Saunders - Newly Appointed CEO

New CEO Appointed

We are excited to share news of an appointment to the position of Chief Executive Officer at Middlesex FA

As we prepare for the departure of Chief Executive, Leigh O'Connor, we are thrilled to be in a position to announce an appointment of his replacement.

“Following my decision to move on to The FA it was important for Middlesex FA to find the right person to lead the association forward and through a period of change. I am pleased to announce that Head of Football Services, Kayleigh Saunders has been appointed as my successor. Having worked closely with Kayleigh for a number of years, this is a role I think she will excel in and I wish her all the best moving forward.” - Leigh O'Connor, outgoing CEO of Middlesex FA

John Taylor, the Chair of Middlesex FA helped to oversee the recruitment of Kayleigh Saunders as CEO along with our FA Regional Manager, Chris Pringle, MFA Vice-Chair, Doug Douglas and Poonam Majithia, MFA Independent Director. On the appointment, John said,

“We are delighted to appoint Kayleigh Saunders as our new Chief Executive.  In recruiting for the role, we were looking to appoint an inspiring leader for the Association who would successfully deliver our Strategic Plan.  Kayleigh emerged from a strong group of candidates to demonstrate that she has the skills and passion to drive our organisation forwards and ensure that Middlesex Football is truly representative of our community.”

As Kayleigh begins to prepare to move into her new role, we spoke to her to get her thoughts following the appointment, here's what she had to say,

“I am excited to be taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer at Middlesex FA, having worked in a number of roles across the organisation I have had the opportunity to work closely with our staff, and also with the majority of our clubs, a wide range of partners, volunteers and members of the workforce. I look forward to taking on this new challenge as we enter a period of change for the organisation and can’t wait to see how Middlesex Football continues to grow.”
