Black History Month Event 2018

Event To Celebrate Black History Month

Middlesex FA is to host a celebration to commend the historical and on-going contribution of the black community to football within the county.

To mark the celebration of Black History Month, Middlesex FA is delighted to announce that Rectory Park will host a special event to commend the historical and on-going contribution of the black community to football within the county.

Taking place on Tuesday 23 October, between 6.00pm and 9.00pm, the event will enable those in attendance to network, before sitting down to listen to some insightful keynote speakers followed by a question-and-answer session with the panel.

The evening will later be opened up for discussions, before a final networking session ahead of the event coming to a close.

Places at the event are completely free of charge; however, please register your intention to attend by emailing colin.williams@middlesexfa.com by no later than Wednesday 17 October.

Shafique Govani, Chair of Middlesex FA’s Inclusion Advisory Group, said: “I am delighted and proud to be part of the upcoming Black History Month event at Middlesex FA.

“I look forward to celebrating the diverse and multi-ethnic communities, and hearing about the inspiring contributions that have been made across the Middlesex football community and beyond.

“This event is just the beginning of a wider plan to increase opportunities for all in football and to place diversity and inclusion at the heart of the local communities we serve.”
