Middlesex FA staff at Christmas

Workforce restructure announced

After a lengthy consultation process, Middlesex FA is delighted to announce details of a new staff structure.

We are delighted to announce a new staff structure which comes into effect immediately. The new structure is a result of a thorough Workforce review which took into account:
•    Our Move to Rectory Park
•    Our Grassroots survey results
•    Feedback received from key stakeholders
•    Changes to Sport England Funding programmes

The Aim of the changed structure is to provide more support to local partners and deliver a more effective and efficient service to the wider football community.  We have implemented a number of role changes in response to constructive feedback we have received especially around Referee Development and Football Services.

The new structure sees a change in the roles of a number of existing staff members whilst we also welcome new faces and recruiting for three new positions. Through this process we are investing more into our staff, increasing the size of the organisation and ensuring that we meet our mission to support, develop and govern the game of football in Middlesex.

The safeguarding and welfare of our participants is our top priority and we have also invested more resource into our safeguarding team. Neill Fowler moves into the Safeguarding Administrator role and we will be recruiting a Designated Safeguarding Officer. This move will ensure safeguarding is at the front of mind in all Middlesex FA operations and has enhanced the development of Middlesex FA’s safeguarding delivery.

We welcome Steven McFadyen as Football Development Officer (East); Steven previously worked for both Middlesex and London FAs in a combined role on the Disability Workforce Fund project. He is also joined by our new Football Development Apprentice, Byron Down.  Byron is an England International Deaf player and joins us in his first role as our coaching apprentice. Other notable changes include Middlesex Learning joining the Participation and Development team. This move will be complemented by the addition of a new Workforce Development Officer role (currently vacant) which will combine the previous Referee Development Officer work with support for coach and volunteer recruitment, deployment and retention.
