Middlesex FA Life Member George Pantling passes away

Middlesex FA Life Member, George Pantling, has passed away.

Middlesex FA is saddened to learn of the passing of Life Member, George Pantling, this week aged 88.

George joined Middlesex Youth FA in 1984 and remained a member until its incorporation into the main Association.

He was elected to the Youth FA Council as the representative of Middlesex Association of Young People’s Clubs, an organisation to which he also devoted many years of service. During his time on the Youth FA George held numerous roles including Chairman of the Competitions Committee, a role he held for over 15 years.

He was made a Life Vice President of the Youth FA in 2001 and became a Life Member of Middlesex FA in 2011.

George was always a friendly face who worked tirelessly to provide football within the County and he helped many youngsters enjoy the beautiful game. He travelled the length and breadth of the county on many occasions to ensure talented players obtained the opportunity to play at the highest possible level and a number of players owe their professional careers to his persistence.

Our condolences go to George’s friends and family at this sad time. His funeral will be held on Monday 19th March at 9am at the Chilterns Crematorium, Amersham.
