Tournament Sanctioning

Did you know that if you run a tournament, and you don’t sanction with your Local County FA, your insurance, and those of the Clubs and Match Officials taking part would be invalid?

Summer Tournaments are common practice for Clubs to host, especially during the off-season. Middlesex FA have provided you with everything you need to get your tournament sanctioned. All the forms are editable and can be downloaded and saved to your computer before they are returned to us, making the process a lot easier for the tournament organisers to complete.

The Government has announced a roadmap out of lockdown which aims to see all restrictions on gatherings removed by the Summer of 2021. However, they have made clear that this timetable for relaxing COVID restrictions may be subject to change.

Tournaments can take place as long as they abide by all relevant Government and FA guidance in place at the time. Should you wish to host a large-scale event with crowds and hospitality, we recommend waiting until later in the Government’s roadmap when restrictions will be reduced.

Organisers are also advised to liaise with their Local Authority when planning an event to ensure they meet all necessary Public Health requirements.
