The latest news and updates from Middlesex FA

South Asian Heritage Month

Middlesex FA have been celebrating South Asian Heritage Month which commenced between 18th July and 17th August. The theme for 2023 was ‘Stories to Tell’, which led us to share inspiring stories of those within our Middlesex Football community. This included Surekha Griffiths (Grassroots Match Official of the Year for the 22/23 Season), Selina Kotecha (Chartered Business Psychologist and Middlesex FA IAB Member), and Nayim Ahmed (Volunteer Development Officer at London FA and Middlesex FA).

All articles can be found in the ‘news’ section of the Middlesex FA website.

More information on South Asian Heritage Month can be found here.

Disability Leagues Return for 23/24

We are delighted to announce the return of our affiliated disability leagues for the 23/24 season. The Middlesex PAN Disability League kicked off on Sunday 3rd September. The move to Rectory Park marks a new chapter for the league and we are excited to see how this develops throughout the season.

The North West London Mental Health League will commence from September 15th. The League was very pleased to be awarded the Grassroots League of the Year at the Middlesex FA presentation evening and are keen to follow on from the success of last season. 23/24 sees the return of the female division which we would very much like more individual players/teams to join.

If you would like to find out more about the disability leagues, please contact:

Daniel Perkins – Football Development Officer (Inclusion) development@middlesexfa.com

Become England Football Accredited

In August we had another 10 clubs achieve England Football Accredited status, you can join them, and it could be easier than you think.

FA Artificial Pitch Register

If your club is to use a 3G pitch used for FA affiliated matches this season, it is essential they are tested and registered on the 3G pitch register. If you have concerns about the quality about the 3G pitch you are hiring, please ask the site owner when the last pitch test was carried out.

There are currently three test institutes available to carry out FA register testing. Their details are below.

Labosport
0115 968 1998

Sports Labs
01506 444 755

Surface Performance
0208 2465562

Once you have arranged a date with the test institute their testing engineers will travel to your site on the day of the test and bring with them all the necessary testing equipment. You will need to provide full access to the pitch and any maintenance equipment for the duration of the test. The test can take between approx. 3 to 5 hours depending on the quality of the pitch. Once the test is completed the test institute will complete their report and send it to the Football Foundation for review.
