Middlesex FA is delighted to announce the second winner in 2019 of our monthly Charter Standard Club of the Month accolade.

Congratulations to Harefield United, who are the recipients of February’s award.

Feb award-winners are a brilliant example of how clubs and a County FA can work together to improve the local football on offer. 

Harefield United was formed in 1868, making it the oldest in Middlesex, with Harefield United Youth Football Club established in 2002 with teams from the former Denham Youth Football Club. The club currently fields over 20 teams of all ages and levels, from Under-7 to Under-21s, in addition to Sunday League teams, an Under-18 Allied Counties team, reserves and first team; with some players having progressed all the way through the ranks.

The club also runs Mini Hares, a fun-based session for players starting at the age of four, and is part of the Arsenal Women Sister Club programme.

This season, the club is celebrating their 150th year of football as a community club promoting senior, junior, Sunday and women’s football.

A club spokesperson said: "Our Charter Standard demonstrates that we run a professional, structured and well-run club that strives to develop each player to their full potential. It recognises the specific criteria that we work to in creating a fun, safe and inclusive environment that is the heart of our club. 

The Charter Standard is important to us as it emphasises where we want to go in the future and how we want to develop, as a club, for our community."

“Harefield United has changed my boy and given him a positive outlet to focus on. Everyone who is involved in running the team is super lovely, committed, supporting and accommodating, and really show enthusiasm for teaching football. My son has come on leaps and bounds since joining in September as a complete beginner and he cannot wait for each training session,” said Claire, a parent of one of Harefield United Youth’s players.
