The FA Skills Programme

The FA Skills Programme is a unique football coaching programme that gives 5-11s of all abilities the opportunity to get active, learn new skills and enjoy the game. The Middlesex FA Skills Team provides expert coaching in Schools, Charter Standard Clubs, Holiday sessions and After School skills sessions across the county.

Their aim is to develop better and more technically gifted football players but also to give every child the opportunity to be the best they can be. The programme is a national initiative run by The Football Association and funded by Sport England, which provides…

  • After School Football Coaching
  • FREE Holiday Football Coaching
  • Primary School Football Coaching
  • Support for Charter Standard Clubs

The FA Skills is based on the FA coaching model that helps boys and girls of all abilities to grow, develop their skills and to reach their potential.  The FA four corner model encompasses four key attributes that are vital for any developing young footballer: Physical, Technical, Psychological and Social elements. These help children to develop more than just their football skills by gaining confidence, building self-esteem, learning to work as team and improving decision making.

Kevin Green (kevin.green@thefa.com) is The FA Skills Programme Team Leader in Middlesex, and leads coaches Dan Barton, Callum Martin, Gary Roberts and Louise Allwood.
