Coaching in Education

Football in schools, colleges or universities

Often a player's first involvement in football will be within education.

Be it the first stages of primary school or the final stages of University, providing opportunities for children and young adults to play football in an educational setting is important to us.

In order to ensure these opportunities remain available we have a number of initiatives designed to support educators (teachers, sports coaches) and inspire those being educated.

FA Lidl Skills

The FA Lidl Skills programme works in over 2500 primary schools each year, providing lessons for children against the requirements of the PE National Curriculum and supporting teachers' professional learning.

Child-centred and catering for all ability levels, the programme focuses on the individual needs of boys' and girls', helping them to develop technique, ball skills and confidence.

FA Secondary Schools programme

The FA Secondary Schools programme is a scheme that enables secondary schools across the country to receive free support and resources around the key areas of football delivery in schools: Leadership, Intra-School Competition, After School Clubs and Inter-Schools Competitions. The programme aims to supply teachers with the ideas, tools and resources that they value, whilst engaging closely to ensure they can continually support teachers effectively.

Coaching courses for teachers and students

Middlesex FA are constantly looking to engage with schools to help develop both their coaches and students through our FA coaching courses. For teachers, there are offers available where schools who are signed up to The FA Secondary Schools programme can receive up to 40% discount on FA Level 1 and 2 courses.

For students, schools have the opportunity to run FA Level 1 courses, delivered by Middlesex FA tutors, either at the school or at one of our approved venues. To find out more about the structure of the course and the possible benefits to your students, click here
