Kensington Dragons Youth Named Accredited Club of the Month for May

Congratulations to our latest Accredited Club of the Month.

Everyone at Middlesex FA would like to congratulate the staff, players and everybody involved with Kensington Dragons Youth, who have been named our Accredited Club of the Month for May.

Providing football for young people across the inner-city areas of North Kensington, Shepherd’s Bush and beyond, Kensington Dragons Youth is doing fantastic work in the community. In an area short on playing facilities, where securing pitches for training and matches can be difficult and expensive, a group of dedicated volunteers started the club to provide opportunities for young people to take part in well-organised football free of charge. With all donations received voluntary, no player is prevented from playing due to financial circumstances. As a result, the club has a wide social-economic diversity, with players interested in passion and ability when it comes to football, rather than individuals’ background.

Founded in 2001, the club initially joined the Harrow Youth Football League, with one U11 boys’ team. Today, the club has eight boys’ youth teams, five girls’ youth teams and three senior teams for young adults.

In addition to the playing opportunities offered, Kensington Dragons play an active part in the FA’s education and training provision, hosting Coaches’ Conferences with guest speakers. The club also monitors coaches’ participation in CPD courses hosted by The FA and runs in-person courses.

Moving forward, Kensington Dragons Youth will be playing host to Comets Pan Disability sessions, which are being run in conjunction with Middlesex FA.
