Middlesex FA Join The World In Mourning The Sad Passing of The Duke of Edinburgh

Middlesex FA, football, sports and the world today join together in mourning and remembrance following the sad passing of His Royal Highness, The Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, which was announced this morning by Buckingham Palace.

Condolences were shared across social media in Middlesex by our clubs and leagues alike.

Middlesex FA on Twitter, said, "All of us at Middlesex FA are saddened to learn of the passing of His Royal Highness, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh."

"We join with everyone in the UK, and people all over the world, in mourning his loss."

The FA have today released the following statement regarding the continuation of football across the country this weekend:

Following the announcement that the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral is to take place at 3pm on Saturday 17th April 2021, The FA made contact with DCMS and have since confirmed their strong recommendation that no football should take place between 2.45pm and 4.15pm on this day. As such Middlesex FA has shared this same strong recommendation with all clubs due to play in Middlesex FA's County Cup Competitions this weekend.
