Winning Start for U16s

Middlesex U16’s made a winning start to their competitive season with a deserved victory against their Sussex counterparts.

Both teams produced some excellent football in a well contested match and the best chance of the first half fell to Kyle Vassell on the stroke of half time after a well worked move. Kyle’s final shot was just wide so the match remained goalless at half time.

Middlesex stepped up the pace in the second half and the match was decided by a single goal scored by Louis Dennis after 9 minutes from a cross by Joe Hopia.

The playing surface at Uxbridge was very good despite some heavy rain and allowed both teams to demonstrate their skills. The referee Mr Majid Mortazavi and his assistants also facilitated this with faultless performances.
