Middlesex Senior Charity Cup Final.                                     Enfield Town 4-1 Hillingdon Borough (AET)                         Tuesday 12th August 2008

The 100th Senior Charity Cup Final, postponed from last season because of Hillingdon Borough’s fixture pile-up, resulting from their successful season, and then the foul weather, was finally played at Hayes and Yeading FC, Church Road, Hayes.

The result was a 4-1 win for Enfield Town, after extra time, giving them a second Middlesex Senior Charity Cup win in their relatively short history.

Hillingdon Borough made the early running and took the lead in the 5th minute through John Powles, following an Enfield Town defensive mix-up

Luke Marshall equalised for Hillingdon Borough 7 minutes into the second half and despite several near misses at each end, there was no more scoring in normal time.

Right back, Glenn Harvey put Enfield Town ahead in the 8th minute of extra time with a ferocious shot from outside the box which the Hillingdon keeper got his hands to but could not stop.
Luke Marshall, who was adjudged to be Man of the Match, made the game safe for Enfield Town in the second period of extra time with goals in 5th and 11th minutes of that period.
The referee, John McGann and his assistants controlled the game well.

The trophy and medals were presented to the teams and officials at the end of the match by Jim Taylor and John Taylor, Chairman and Vice Chairman of MCFA respectively.
