Football Foundation - Community and Education Scheme

Tha aim of this scheme is to increase participation and promote healthy and active lifestyles, to use football as a tool to increase education attainment, promote social inclusion and challenge anti-social behaviour.

Grant ceiling
The Football Foundation will fund up to £250,000 for community and education projects that last between three to five years. Percentage support varies but we aim to support projects at 50-65% of the total project cost. Applications must have a total project cost of £10,000 or more. Applicants wishing to apply for under £10,000 must refer to the Small Grants Scheme.

Who can apply?
Any not for profit organisations, Football in the Community or Local Authorities can apply for Community and Education funding.

The Foundation only accepts applications from clubs that are affiliated to the English Football League. Applications from Wales will only be accepted if they are made through the following Welsh Football in the Community Schemes:

Cardiff City
Colwyn Bay
Merthyr Tydfil
Newport County
Swansea City
Wrexham FC

Individuals may not apply for Community and Education funding.

What they look for
A good application will identify and demonstrate the need for the project. It will clearly state what the objectives are and how they will be achieved. It must demonstrate Partnership working and where possible, funding contributions from Partner organisations. The project should not work in isolation and demonstrate links to other initiatives where appropriate.

The Foundation is keen to ensure the projects it funds are sustainable and they should demonstrate how they will continue, once Foundation funding comes to an end.
