Disability Football

At the beginning of June 2007 the first Football Development Officer for People with Disabilities was appointed. In conjunction with key partners Munnelly Support Service Limited, Football Foundation and Sportsmatch the Middlesex County Football Association aims to establish a player pathway for people with disabilities.

The Association will co-ordinate the delivery of football across the County through conducting regular meetings with interest groups. Initial focus will be upon establishing regular football sessions for children in schools to participate in the game providing the opportunity of suitable exit routes.

Support is available to those who are either already active in the disability game or people who would like to become involved. If you would like more information please don’t hesitate to contact Jon Whittingham, Football Development Officer for People with Disabilities, at jon.whittingham@middlesexfa.com.

Hounslow Hawks

Hounslow Hawks require a coach to assist them with there team.

The players have very mixed abilities in playing and we have two teams entered into the league. We would like a volunteer coach to assist at training so we can break down the players into smaller groups and do more individual work with players, which is proving difficult to do at present without an extra pair of hands.

The training sessions are held on a Tuesday and Thursday at Old Isleworthians, wood lane Isleworth, from 1pm - 3pm.

If you are interested please contact Michelle at michelle.nielsen@wlmht.nhs.uk

Hestia

Hestia is a charity organisation offering support and housing to people with different support needs.
(Mental health, Ex Offenders, Domestic Violence, HIV/Aids)
Our Service Users have shown keen interest in funding their own football club and started having regular training sessions.
Because none of our staff have got a coaching or training qualification, or is working towards it we are looking for someone who is interested in running and organising these training sessions on a voluntary basis.
We are looking for a person who would like to gain experience in coaching/training and has an interest in empowering people and beliefs that through exercise a person can truly turn their life around.
Because this is a role we can’t pay for, the person would have to be truly passionate and enthusiastic about making a positive change to people’s life’s.
