Goalkeeping Coaching

Middlesex County FA are pleased to offer the Level 1 & Level 2 Goalkeeping Courses in the 2006/07 schedule. Read on for further details of the course and how to book on.

 

LEVEL 1 IN GOALKEEPING COACHING CERTIFICATE

This course is available without any pre-conditions or entry requirements to applicants over the age of 16 and provides the candidate with the opportunity to learn the basic technical aspects of Goalkeeping.

The knowledge gained will enable candidates to develop a basic understanding of coaching individual techniques, progressing technical practices and maintaining the health and safety of the players and other coaches.
Coaching football, whether in an employed or voluntary capacity is a rewarding and responsible role. This course can lead to further qualifications such as the Level 2 and Level 3 Coaching Certificate in Football.
In order to progress onto the Level 2 Goalkeeping Certificate the candidates must first attain the Level 2 Coaching Certificate in Football.

Qualification Objectives
On completion of the course the coach will be able to:
• Coach basic individual techniques.
• Understand how to develop and improve the Goalkeepers' techniques.
• Plan and prepare progressive technical practices.
• Maintain the health and safety of the players and other coaches.

Qualification: The Football Association Level 1 Goalkeeping Coaching Award.

Course Duration: 23 hours + 4 hours distance learning.

LEVEL 2 IN GOALKEEPING COACHING CERTIFICATE

Applicants must be at least 17 years of age and hold the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football and be a member of FACA.

This course is aimed at coaches who wish to coach Goalkeepers at Non-League or Junior/Youth level. The course of training is a mixture of theory and practical work and will cover the following:
• Basic individual goalkeeping techniques.
• Planning and preparing goalkeeping sessions.
• Coaching styles and the coaching formula.
• Health and safety of players and others in the coaching environment.

Qualification: The Football Association Level 2 Goalkeeping Coaching Award.

Course Duration: 23 hours + 4 hours distance learning.
