Middlesex clubs receive £47,500 worth of funding!
The MCFA is delighted that ten Middlesex clubs, three of whom are Charter Standard, were successful with recent Football Foundation Grow the Game applications. This means that they now have up to three years of funding to support new activity within their clubs.
Charter Standard clubs Denham United Ladies, Edmonton Rangers Youth and Discover were amongst those receiving up to £5,000 each. The clubs will now have funds to support setting up new teams. With the help of the Middlesex County Football Association Development Team clubs completed applications in February to support activity from this summer onwards over the next two to three years.
This money will prove vital to the clubs and will specifically help them pay for costs relating to coach education courses, affiliation, pitch hire, referee hire, FA CRB’s and more. This is a great achievement for all of the clubs concerned and we are delighted that almost £50,000 of funding will be supporting the crucial development of football in Middlesex thanks to the Football Foundation.
The Football Foundation’s Grow the Game scheme opens in two windows during the year. The second of these should be in the next couple of months and this information will be updated on our website as soon as we know so please keep checking back. The next round of funding could be ideal for setting up new mini soccer teams from January 2011. If you are interested in setting up teams for players up to and including U10 it will be worth thinking about submitting a Football Foundation Grow the Game application.
