Club Development

There are many ways in which you can positively develop your football club.  These may include focusing on the size or structure of your club, its personnel and funding opportunities.

The sub-sections on the left will give you a flavour of the development possibilities available to your club.  Please take note of the related links and documents in these sections, which can help you find what you're looking for.

£10,000 available to develop your club

In partnership with the Football Foundation we can help your club access up to £10,000 worth of funding over three years. Charter Standard clubs Omonia Youth and Brent Ladies were recently successful with applications and have started putting the money to use.

Omonia Youth are one of the most established clubs in Middlesex. Based in the borough of Enfield the club have been offering football opportunities for youngsters for many years. The club wanted to develop further mini soccer opportunities and put together a Small Grants Scheme application with the help of the Middlesex County FA. The successful application has since begun to fund training volunteers through coach education and will continue to help the set-up of further mini soccer teams.

Keen to tap into one of the fastest developing games in the country Brent Ladies were granted three years worth of funding to develop Futsal for the club. The club attract over 100 players and are now able to establish a structure for the continued team development, hire facilities, and put volunteers onto coaching courses.

In partnership with the Football Foundation, funding could also be available for your club to help develop new activity. We are particularly keen to develop mini-soccer opportunities in youth clubs by working towards the FA’s four year strategy. This money can be put towards hiring a coach, putting volunteers and participants on coaching courses, facility hire, affiliation, promotion, publicity, recruitment events, first aid kits, travel costs and more.

Clubs can also apply for £400 worth of equipment at the same time through the Football Foundation. To find out more please contact Football Development Officer, Steeven Sharpe, by email on steeven.sharpe@middlesexfa.com or call 020 8515 6901.

FA Strategy 2008-12: What will we do for you?

The Middlesex County FA aim to assist club development specifically by working towards the Football Association’s new four year strategy. Where youth clubs are concerned the strategy goals specifically relate to the following:

  • Increasing mini soccer participation in clubs
  • Working towards a national target of 75% of youth teams achieving Charter Standard by 2012
  • Support clubs to appoint a Level 1 Coach for every youth team

Ensure all new Charter Standard clubs have a member who has attended the 1 day age-appropriate coaching module
We would like to help your club reach these goals and help us achieve our strategy!
