Charter Standard New Requirements

From July 2009 there are due to be some proposed changes to the criteria of being an FA Charter Standard club.

The changes are designed to continue meeting the needs of the FA’s National Game Strategy 2008-2012 which was developed following nationwide consultation. The goals we are striving to meet include growth & retention, raising standards, better players, running the game, volunteer development and facilities. The changes in criteria below reflect the desire to reach these goals:

All Charter Standard Clubs
• 1 Coach to have attended FA Age Appropriate – Introductory Module from July 2009
• Code of Conduct – Clubs should use the FA RESPECT Codes of Conduct, which covers players, officials as well as parents and spectators (Please see related documents)
• Volunteer Coordinator – This person should support other volunteers

Development Clubs
• 1 Coach to have achieved FA Youth Module 1 from July 2010
• Club must attend at least 2 update/in-service dates per year

Community Clubs
• 1 Coach to have achieved FA Youth Module 2 by July 2011
• 1 Coach to have attended FA Mentoring Course by July 2011
• The club holds at least one workshop per season on addressing behaviour and improving standards
• The club produces an Advanced Development Plan
• Schools Coordinator – This person should be your liaison with local schools

What do you need to do as an existing Charter Standard club?

Please email or post details of the people who satisfy the above criteria by Friday 31st July 2009: you can do this by emailing Steeven Sharpe at steeven.sharpe@middlesexfa.com or mailing Middlesex County FA, 39 Roxborough Road, Harrow, Middlesex, HA1 1NS.
