Harrow Soccer 7’s Combination become first MCFA Charter Standard League
The Middlesex County Football Association is delighted to announce that the Harrow Soccer 7’s Combination has become the first FA Charter Standard League in the area. This is a tremendous achievement for the league making a commitment towards raising standards in the game in line with the FA Strategy.
At a recent league meeting this prestigious award was presented by MCFA Youth Division Secretary, Mike Heavey and is testament to the hard work carried out by the league and their member clubs. The FA Charter Standard League award is a flagship initiative and assesses the ability of a League to provide a high quality, safe and enjoyable football experience against a standard set of criteria.
As part of the criteria the Harrow Soccer 7’s Combination has over 70% of teams who have achieved the FA Charter Standard Club award and the league has made a commitment that in two years time all teams will have attained the award. In addition to this the league will demonstrate a commitment to the FA Respect Programme and Long Term Player Development.
Football Development Officer, Steeven Sharpe, was full of praise for the Harrow Soccer 7’s Combination achieving the award “becoming the first Charter Standard League in Middlesex is due recognition for the Harrow Soccer 7’s Combination who have clearly demonstrated through a detailed plan that they are committed to raising standards throughout grassroots football in the area. The hard work League Secretary, Andy Lowe and his committee have put into making sure that football is being provided in a safe, secure and quality environment cannot be underestimated.”
The Middlesex County Football Association is keen to support other leagues and clubs to achieve the FA Charter Standard and is targeting 75% of teams offering football in this environment by 2012.
